The Uganda Business Process Outsourcing Association (UBPOA) is working together with the ICT Association of Uganda (ICTAU), National IT Authority Uganda (NITA-U), Uganda Export Promotions Board (UEPB) and AVASANT- India to jointly organize the International ICT and BPO Conference 2015 Exhibition to showcase trade and investment opportunities in Uganda, to network among the potential investors and local players and to allow business deals to be made.

The two day event under the theme “Harnessing export competitiveness for job creation” is expected to bring together ICT and outsourcing academicians, practitioners, researchers and policymakers from within the African continent and across the globe and focus on leveraging opportunities to create jobs, current best practices and exploring new innovations in the Outsourcing industry.

The International ICT and BPO Conference 2015 will take place from 30th September to 2nd October 2015 at the Serena Hotel, Kampala.

The conference will look to bring together over 200 participants from the global community of ICT/BPO stakeholders from around the world and high profile delegations from Europe, Asia, USA and Africa.

The main objectives of the conference are to showcase Uganda as a potential ICT/BPO hub and a preferred ICT Centre of Excellence with its achievements and capabilities in the ICT sector, and to serve as a strong marketing tool to position it in new markets.

The government of Uganda has identified Information Technology Enabled Services–Business Process Outsourcing (ITES-BPO) as one of the key sectors to enhance economic growth and reduce youth unemployment in the country.

“Uganda has the potential to achieve further estimated BPO revenues of around $375 million by 2020 by accessing local and regional customers, with the potential for further overseas markets.” Rogers Karebi – Secretary General and founding member of the UBPOA remarked.

More specifically, to promote the IT/ITES sector and to showcase, sensitize and create awareness about the existing International Trade Centre (ITC) interventions to increase firm level competitiveness in Uganda.
