I-Network
is not for profit organisation working in the development sector with a special fiocus on facilitating , supporting and advising on the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in development. I-Network was
established in 2002 with the aim of providing a platform for development stakeholders to share information, stories and lessons learned in the implementation of projects using ICT tools in Uganda.
Vision
I-Network envisions a society that is able to equitably tap the socio- economic benefits of the information age through the use of Information and Communication Technologies.
Mission
Provide a platform for sharing knowledge and information on applying ICT for equitable national development as well as influencing and supporting ICT policy development and implementation in Uganda.
I-Network Activities
 I-Network carries out a number of activities and services. The flagship activities are in the area of knowledge sharin, where over the last 5 years I-Network has gained a reputation as a neutral platform for stakeholders in development to share their opinions and give feedback on issues affecting the development of Uganda in the sector of ICT.
Over the last few years, I-Network has gained experineced from the round table facilitation services, Project implementation support and capacity development it has provided to various projects in Uganda. This has allowed I-network to document and provide stories for sharing with other development partners in Uganda.
The major activities I-Network carries out are as follows:
- Provision of a knowledge sharing platform through knowledge sharing seminars, publications, website and a mailing list.
- Provision of advisory services in the use and harnessing of Information and Communication Technolgies
- Capacity building in Information and Communication Technologies
- Process faciliatation using the round table process for project design and develeopment
- Extraction of lessons learned during and after project implementation using participatory feedback methodologies.
